January 19th is the date reserved for our annual Crab Feed. Your Board of Directors will do the overall planning by we need volunteers for various sub-committees. Here are the major areas where volunteers are needed:
- Chairperson for the raffle and silent auction
- Chairperson for decorations
- Chairperson for the bar

We all need to thank Jeff Sonneberger for building and donating the awesome smoker. We have already used it for the events this summer and it has helped us upgrade our food prep to a new higher level!
Memorial Day Weekend
This is the first island celebration of the season. Chef Kelly will be barbecuing some delicious chicken provided by the club and all the members have to do is bring a dish to share. (salad-fruit-pasta-dessert- etc.) and your own drinks. We still need some volunteers to help clean up. Email Linda @ email@example.com if you are willing to help.
Second Annual Father’s Day Cook-Off: Chairperson: Teresa Springer
On Saturday June 16 we will honor our father’s with competitive horse shoes and volleyball. There will also be a rib cook off for any of our brave chefs. Mark your calendars and watch for details coming from Teresa.
Event Volunteers Needed for Kid’s Day July 21:
Kid’s Day is an event that is highly anticipated by the kids in our club and their guests. Please talk with your friends and put together a group to run this event. Spring Island Clean Up: Special thanks to the Springer Family for organizing the Island Clean up weekends this year. Teresa did an awesome job keeping us all well fed as we worked on our projects. We also want to thank those wonderful members who came out, rolled up their sleeves, and really got a lot of work done. Gardening (mowing, weed wacking, tree pruning) was the main focus, but also we worked on the restrooms and deck and saw the arrival of our new tractor.
Volunteer for Island Clean Up: If you love to come to the island, you should definitely come to Spring Clean up!
Island Clean Up is very important to our island and makes it that wonderful place
to come to on those hot summer days. It is also a great day to get to know your fellow club members better and get some exercise!. We will need people to prune, paint, inventory, mow, pressure wash, etc. Send an email to Shawn and let him know what date(s) you can help. email@example.com

Board of Directors Nominations
If you would like to nominate someone to serve on the Board of Directors please send the name to Linda Fisher by December 1st. The board meets once a month and is responsible for planning and organize the SWSC events and to oversee island maintenance.
Labor Day Weekend
Come join your friends and family and celebrate the end of the summer season at Ward Island. There will be horseshoes, Corn Hole, Volleyball, and of course swimming and water skiing/wakeboarding. Sunday night Chris Kelly is cooking brisket and the rest is potluck style.

Fight night is coming this Saturday evening at the island and is being sponsored by Manuel Gamez. A donation of $5 is appreciated to cover the cost of the set up and the fight. Bring your own drinks and some finger food to share. The BBQ pits will be available if you want to cook your own dinner. No RSVP needed – just show up early and get a good seat. Viewer discretion is advised.

We will be offering an opportunity for all club members to sign up for a CPR training and a First Aid course as well. Watch for an announcement of date and time so you can sign up.

Sunday, July 2, was the 50th year of the club’s Ginn Fizz Breakfast. Special thanks to Cindy Hutchins and crew for the great drinks and to Chris Kelly and his many helping hands for the best breakfast ever!
It is important to get your reservations by this Wednesday June 28th. Checks made out to Stockton Water Ski Club can be mailed or turned in on Sunday. Arm bands will be issued on Sunday morning to those who have paid.

Volunteers are needed to help clean up and take trash bags.

Each cook entrant will need to bring his or her own raw meat, which will be either ribs or
tri-tip. There will be a potluck dinner only for the cook entrants and their families plus 3 guests. The following rules were adopted:
- Bring your own raw meat.
- Cooking time for raw meat starts at 10:00 am, following inspection of the meat.
- Cooking time is a 6 hour limit, ending at 4:00 pm.
- All preparation and cooking will be done at the island.
- There are two choices for meat, either ribs or tri-tip.
- The potluck dinner will begin at 4:10 pm, so the meat can rest and be cut for serving.
A prize for first place and for second place will be awarded.
